Presentation during the conference in Albania

Prof. Vladan Ivanović from the University of Kragujevac participated in the International Conference “Platform Work in South East Europe: Feminist Futures in the Gold Economy”, held at the University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi” under the auspices of the COST Action CA21118 – Platform Work Inclusion Living Lab (P-WILL).
On Friday, the 23rd of May 2025 he gave the presentation related to the project entitled: “BEING BEST, BEING DIFFERENT: Preliminary insights into gender differences of top-performing workers in SEE”, co-authored by prof. Zoran Kalinic.
Key findings include the following:
- men in SEE are more experienced than women (men are having more experience than women – 1.22 years on average),
- higher number of top-freelancers are having preferences to long-term employment contract (72%), while such preferences are more pronounced by men (74% for men and 68% for women),
- men are earning more than women (hourly rate for women is 85,9% of the average earing of men while there is greater inequality in distribution of hourly wages within men then within the women population).
