Kick-off meeting

The November project meeting in Krakow, Poland, was attended by 15 representatives from all partner universities and members of the project team from the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Computational Systems of the Krakow University of Economics (KUE).

The first day of the meeting was led by Grażyna Paliwoda-Pękosz, the project coordinator. The meeting program began with an opening speech by prof. Paweł Lula, head of the Department of Computational Systems, followed by presentations from partner universities and a discussion of the principles of project financing by Sylwia Krzyżek-Liburska. In the afternoon session, the project coordinator discussed the general principles of project management, including communication, teamwork, task allocation, reporting mechanisms and dissemination strategies.

On the second day of the meeting, the KUE project manager, Dariusz Dymek, led a working session aimed at developing a framework for the implementation of Work Package 2 (WP2) entitled „The rich picture of the global freelancer market”. During this session, participants discussed the planned activities for this WP2, which include: (A1) Development of the methods of data gathering and analysis (December 2024, led by University of Kragujevac); (A2) Data gathering and analysis (January 2025–March 2025, led by University Islam Indonesia); (A3) Comparison of Europe and Asia (April 2025–May 2025, led by Universtiy of Kragujevac).

The meeting was accompanied by social activities, including a guided tour of the Krakow Old Town and the Wawel Royal Castle.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity to meet key members of the project team in person and establish professional and social bonds that will result in further good cooperation within the project.
